Cats and dogs do not get along. Take turns placing animals on the board, but never right next to an animal of another kind. With three players the mice join in. Whoever has placed the most animals at the end wins. (Detailed rules at the very bottom)
Set up the game
Rules and controls
You play on a board of 7 × 7 squares. With two players, one of you plays the cats and the other the dogs. With three players the mice join in.
You take turns placing an animal in a free square: first the cats, then the dogs, then the mice. You decide who starts in the settings.
The animals start fighting right away: around every animal lies a protection zone made of the 8 squares that touch it, diagonals included. No animal of another kind may enter an animal’s protection zone.
Two animals of the same kind may stand close together, even right next to each other.
If you choose a square that lies in the protection zone of an animal of another kind, that zone is highlighted in colour and you cannot place there.
Whoever can no longer place anywhere has to pass, and the others carry on. The game ends as soon as nobody can place an animal any more.
Then the animals are counted: whoever has the most animals on the board wins. If there is a tie for the most animals, the game is a draw.
Display: you can play with animal heads or with symbols (X, O and triangle). You choose this in the settings.
Controls: tap or click a square, check the preview and confirm with “Place”. With a mouse, a double-click places the animal straight away. With the keyboard, choose the square with the arrow keys and place with Enter.
